 I have just finished this:

 

It was an upsetting book that I couldn't enjoy.  That it was founded on the truths of a country in turmoil only made it worse.  If books are recreation or entertainment I can find no justification for being entertained by the horrors of The Kite Runner.  Hosseini is a good story teller though, and much as I would have been more blissful in ignorance, I do feel as though I have learned a little about Afganistan, both the ugly, the beautiful and the sad side of things.

 

I am currently reading this:

 

I've only just started but it seems funny, clever and well written, and a gentle recovery from my previous read.

But as is always the case, I don't much fancy any of them.  What I'd quite like to read next is this:

I wish there were a preview button on Vox, as this post looks jumbly and all over the place in the box.  I'll delete it if it's horribly formatted.  Also, am I about to flood everyone's updatey bit with all these pictures of books?

Okay, this wasn't my favourite commercial of all time until yesterday when I was browsing through the answers of the more motivated voxers who had taken the time to join in the voxy QOTD fun.  Now it is.  I stole it.
